Dr. Perlmutter and Clayton Morris of FOX News

Dr. Perlmutter On-Air

Between the continued press for Grain Brain, ongoing regional media appearances and the momentum of my public TV special BRAINCHANGE, I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to share the lessons of Grain Brain with an ever-expanding audience. Many of you who are regular readers of my blog have tuned in for those appearances, and for that I thank you. That’s why I wanted to let you know about an exciting interview I have coming up tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Friday, I’ll be a guest on FOX News’ morning show Fox & Friends. I’m excited to sit down and chat Grain Brain with the shows anchors, especially on a Friday. Hopefully, those who tune in will become curious about how diet impacts brain health, and will use the opportunity (and the weekend) to pick up a copy of Grain Brain and start making some changes. I’m on quite early, 6:45AM ET, so if you plan to tune in, be sure to set that alarm, your brain will thank you. I bet it would like a cup of coffee while you tune in as well.

Hi Dr. Perlmutter – I really appreciate your efforts to educate us on brain health!
Most doctors are not aware of the diet/disease connection. I wish I had been aware of this earlier in life – I believe I’d still have my tonsils, gallbladder and thyroid today. Thanks!!

I try my hardest to study and share the latest research Carol. I’m so glad to know it can help you. Wishing you good health.

Although I’m pretty in tune with the protocol at this point, I plan on tuning in. I need all the motivation to stay on track I can get.

It’s always nice to know you’ll be watching Lynn.

I really appreciate your work to educate the public on health and wellness via diet.
If you could, can you address this idea I’ve been hearing around Resistant Starches. It is said to not raise blood sugar, and sustains colon bacteria.
    Thank you.

I’m glad to see, and hope more Neurologist will begin to think outside the box when it comes to the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.

I recently watched you on TV and immediately went and bought your book. I have started the diet with my 26 year old daughter. I have been searching for answers since she was 12. I have never been given a diagnosis but her coordination, speech and social skills have been affected. It started with slurred speech and a quiver in her tongue. MRI’s were done locally with and without contrast and this is the report: The studies showed inhomogeneous abnormal signal (bright on T2) from the putamen and globus pallidus bilaterally. This abnormal signal (“abnormal signal” just refers to the shade of gray that we see) does not change over the year between the two MRIs and is probably something that has been there a very long time. This part of the brain is involved with control and coordination of movements, an is likely related to her neuromuscular condition. The findings are not specific and do not allow us to make a diagnosis.
The MRI’s have been the same over the years with no answer. My question is, if this has always been there, why did we have no indication prior to the approximate age of 12??? I have continued over the years to all sorts of dr’s and tests and the interesting thing is nobody has EVER asked me what she eats. We have been on the diet for just over a week and I do see improvement. I have called your office and I am anxiously waiting for an appointment. I sure hope this is my answer.

I am new in all this but, one day, while watching one of your interviews, felt like you was describing me, and all my symptoms, how can I get a consultation with you? I live in NY, where are you located?
