If you aren’t a regular visitor to GreenMedInfo, you really should consider it. This is one of the most informative, up-to-date, open-minded sources of health-related information anywhere on the internet. The success of this site is a manifestation of the dedication of its founder, Sayer Ji.

Sayer spent some time with me today in The Empowering Neurologist studio and we had a terrific conversation about a variety of interesting health related topics.
Here’s more info about Sayer:

Sayer Ji is a widely recognized researcher, author, and lecturer, an advisory board member of the National Health Federation, and the founder of the world’s most widely referenced, evidence-based natural health resource of its kind. He founded Greenmedinfo.com in 2008 in order to provide the world an open access, evidence-based resource supporting natural and integrative modalities.  Sayer’s work has been published in various online and print publications, including Truthout, The Wellbeing Journal, Mercola.com, The Journal of Gluten Sensitivity.Sayer attended Rutgers University, where he studied under the American philosopher Dr. Bruce W. Wilshire, with a focus on the philosophy of science, receiving a BA degree in Philosophy in 1995. In 1996, following residency at the Zen Mountain Monastery in upstate New York, he embarked on a 5 year journey of service as a counselor-teacher and wilderness therapy specialist for various organizations serving underprivileged and/or adjudicated populations.

Fantastic resource for health. Glad to be able to bring it to you!

Great interview among the many helpful interviews in your series. Sayer Ji is a hero in the search for health information that is not easily available and rarely known by our medical providers.

  • Marianne

I met Sayer Ji when he used to work at a health food store in Bonita Springs, Florida. I noticed after awhile that he was no longer there and had always wondered what happened to him. You could ask him any type of question and the info just rolled off his tongue like it was second nature. Glad to see he has moved on to bigger and better things.

Thank you for this interview! I used to follow Green Med Info but so much of it contradicted the info I got in my health science degree that I thought it was inaccurate and stopped reading. Thank you for letting me know that this is good information. I’m happy to be wrong in this.

greenmedinfo.com is the mind-boggling website I never dreamt I’d live to see. I’ll be ever grateful to Dr. Perlmutter for bringing this cornucopia of science-based information to our attention. I can’t get enough of it!

A little off-topic, Dr. P, but what do you think of kombucha? Is it beneficial to our microbiome?

Loved this interview! Question what are the possibilites for ADHD treatment/repair?

Sayer Ji sits on the National Health Federation – wow! Sounds terrific until

I found his knowledge to be science based but when I find a link to the National Health Federation and Mercola – well, for that reason, I’m out!

The National Health Federation (NHF) is a lobbying group which promotes alternative medicine.[1] The NHF is based in California and describes its mission as protecting individuals’ rights to use dietary supplements and alternative therapies without government restriction. The NHF also opposes mainstream public-health measures such as water fluoridation and compulsory childhood vaccines.

The NHF was founded by Fred J. Hart in 1955, after he was ordered by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to cease marketing fraudulent radionics devices.[2] Mainstream medical organizations have criticized the NHF for promoting dubious alternative cancer treatments and health claims; the American Cancer Society recommends that cancer patients avoid products promoted by the NHF,[2] while Quackwatch describes the NHF as “antagonistic to accepted scientific methods as well as to current consumer-protection law.”[3]

    • Mary

Current consumer protection laws DO NOT necessarily protect us. That is why we have so many toxic & carcinogenic foods and chemicals in our environment.
FDA approved? Google it before taking it, especially statin drugs.

    • KateColter

I hope you realize Ronna that you are quoting Wikipedia, which is known to be controlled by special interests, including pharmaceutical companies. The National Health Federation is the only non-governmental organization representing the global citizenry’s health rights at the World Trade Organization’s Codex meetings. They have no primary funders beyond their membership base, comprised of people like you and I. This is one of the most well respected (as far as grass roots credibility) health freedom organizations in the world, and Sayer Ji’s affiliation with them is strictly volunteer. It is sad that more don’t realize the amount of time and effort it takes to be part of organizations like this.

Dear David Perlmutter, crossing two crops may not be the same as producing GMO but it is still a bad idea. Whether are a believer or not, there is a prohibition of doing exactly that in the bible. Perhaps, this is why we have allergies, auto immune and other disorders. And you are mistaken, animals do not breed with other species, at least they haven’t been doing it since the great flood era.
